Thanks guys on the guage wiring answers. The real reason I was wondering about this is if I buy a used guage, will the normal length be long enough. If not how short is it. Short enough to slightly move OBD2 port or too short and lengthening guage wires will be a must. Most have pretty much answered it good enough for me.
As per mounting the socal, if you noticed on the back side of the mount there are small holes with threads. If you fab up a small peice of metal and drill a hole in the metal, install a bolt it the metal hole and thread into mount. This holds it in place so it can not fall out ever. Unless bolt comes out. Works very similar to how most guages are held into place. I used a heavy guage peice of tin, but you could use whatever is strong enough. Key is to take time and make it just the right size so there is no play between the mount and the plastic. Good luck and no worries about the hijack!
