this is probably why my fuel pump sounds like crap. i wish i knew this earlier. i think have gone 100 extra miles with the light on one time. the fuel pump still is working, but it is not up to par right now

oh btw, i think i almost put 24 gallons in it once. i know i have done 23 alot

I try to never go below 1/4 tank, racing or going wot on less will cause early pump failure like already mentioned.

Also, I try to keep it half full. If gas weighs in at 6.5lbs/gal then 13 gallons is going to make a difference in economy so that the mpg will be better with less weight and if forced into a racing situation i am prepared to kill.

hmm... my current truck ive put only as much as 24 gallons with the 'fuel range low' message on... in my 03 ive put 25.4 with the message on, haha.... yeah, and i was on a trip too, BARELY made it to the gas station....
