Question Which Snow Tires?

Hey guys, I got a 1996 GMC Suburban with a 6" lift and 35" BF Goodrich Mudders. However, I'm gettin ready to make the move to snowy Utah. While I have confidence in my mudders for occassional snow trip, I don't know if I can trust them on the icy roads I'll be experiencing daily. So I was thinking of getting some new snow tires. Any suggestions? I don't want to spend more than $200 a tire. Thanks.

Definitely look into some BFG All Terrains. They are awesome in snow and ice. If you're going to see alot of deep snow you're going to want a narrower tire. Wide is bad in snow. I've got 33x10.5's in my garage waiting to go on my 86 Chevy after I finish the lift.

I've had pretty good luck with my Goodyear MT/R's here in Chicago for the past three years.

What part of UT are you moving to? I live in the Salt Lake valley and you really dont need snow tires if you've already got 35" BFG MTs. I get up the canyons (where it snows more than 500") to the ski resorts no problem in our Wrangler with 31 BFG ATs. Unless its a really bad year, the roads in the valley are kept pretty clear. I can drive my Formula just about all year - except for days when its actually snowing.

Hell yeah! Should be a good year for them, the ACC is stacked though - even more than usual! Hopefully I can catch some games on ESPN or something out here in the lame *** Mountain West conference.
