slowprocess in the 10's on a 100 shot

well it didn't happen nor was expected. 11's were on the agenda. however, track timing sucked ***.
has anyone been to a track that uses Portable Timing INC. as their timing system. His nitrous runs were on par with his n/a runs of the night but the mph was roughly 8-10 mph better. 60 foot times fell off by 3 tenths and overall outing was rather shitty.
i have first hand experience with this track and think the timing system is screwed up. on motor i run 2 mph faster than anywhere else at this track. i think they were bamboozling his ***. so post up. whose had shitty track times when they know they were faster.

Everybody here gets really crappy times. And sometimes on the timeslip, they won't even get your 60ft or 660ft. It just says .000!
Track prep, weather and elevation has A LOT to do with it. Some tracks prep better others, and of course certain parts of the country are cooler, dryer and lower than others. I know Texas appears to have nitrous in the air.
The slowest states tend to be Arizona, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico, maily due to the elavation of tracks. Just get the weather info for that day, compute the Density Altitude and correct your et and mph using NHRA's correction factors.

It could be off. I know in physics in college they had these mini gates that worked just like a dragstrip. We had these little carts that had springs to propell them. Anyway one gate would start timing when the beam was tripped and the other would stop timing when it's beam was tripped, just like a drag strip. Well the first step that we NEEDED to do, was to calibrate and set the gates. I seriously doubt there's any track in this country that does that. Especially for friday night drags. And if they do its when there's top fuelers in town.
There needs to be a dept. of weights and measures for tracks. All they would do is go around the country to calibrate and set the lights and gates!
