most will tell you a slick is better....it is less weight, softer compound which means sticky! I am running a drag radial because i want to be able to drive up on the tires(incase i have to play on the street). I would say a hoosier daddy in a 28x10.50 on a stock wheel! slick of course!

i'm not sure anyone makes a slick for a 17" wheel besides the 26x11.5x17 et street.

i would go with a set of mickey thompson drag radials, they will hook just as hard as slicks on your truck

Mickey Thompson E/T Streets are a good Drag Radial. My father-in-law has them on his 72 Duster w/ a 500" stoker. They are 325/50 15's. They hook up all right on the street, but on the track they should hold a lot better.
