This info is helpful for me when I try to see which format is better for my customers
When I had it, it was by no means commercial free. Plus to me the rock channels were no better than listening to local FM statoins. Lot of repetition. Most of the time all I heard was newer **** over and over again. I didnt get that when I had Sirius. Plus some of the channels delve deeper into the older rock which I really liked. But hell, things may have changed since then. I dont know. But for the time being im more than happy with Sirius.

I think I know what you mean. Earlier in the year they had lots of XM commercials. Like for the particular station. It's pretty much gone now.

On the Top Hits, lighter rock, and top country type stations there is a lot of repetition. On the stuff I like to listen to I almost never hear the same song twice. But I tend to hit up either the more punk/metal stations or decade stations..

I can't wait to work with the Sirius stuff to see which one I prefer. I also heard from my buddy who is a truck driver that many of them prefer Sirius... That may be saying something since they spend so much time listening.

Yea, I havent listened to XM in a while. I love Octane, Buzzsaw, Hard Attack, The Vault, Classic Rewind and so on on Sirius alot. I drive quite a bit during the day now and I think I would die if I had to listen to FM ever again!

No premium subscription.. base subscription gets everything including Stern, NFL, Maxim Radio etc
Can Listen online for free

XM 9.99
Listen to XM online 3.99 more a month
Playboy 2.99 a month
Oppie and Anthony (Their Howard Stern) 1.99

= 18.96

What if you...
1) don't care about stern or opie and anthony
2) have a portable unit so you don't need to listen via the internet
3) would rather WATCH **** than listen to it. (who the hell listens to **** anyway?)
4) are more of a fan of NASCAR, MLB, or college football than NFL

Then I think XM wins. Too bad their portable units don't appeal to me. I'm going SIRIUS, but would have preferred XM for their offerings and price...

i ran my wires through the third break light and down to behind my seat. so the ant sits about 1 foot away from the third break light on top of the truck.

Except that I'm only about 4 inches or what ever the distance of that rigid portion is from the 3rd brake light. Oh, I also have the antenna cable dress into the headliner and over to the plastic panel on the passenger side.

Sirius is head and shoulders over XM IMO. I had XM in a rental car a few years back and only manged to find 3 or so channels that I enjoyed. As for Sirius, there's too many to keep track of so I just listen to what I managed to preset.
