Default Should I transplant my powerplant?

I am seriously considering putting my drivetrain into a lighter ( aka faster) vehicle. It's a forged bottom end 6.0, stage 3 6.0 heads ( 2.08/1.60's), procharged ( 15lbs of boost), 3 core intercooler, backed with a reverse manual valvebody 700r4. I've narrowed it down to 4 choices: I have easy access to all of these vehicles:

1. 1990 hatchback stang with a 10pt cage ( I know this is semi-sacrelig, but would be pretty cool IMO)

2. 1985 monte carlo ss

3. 1998 shortbed, single-cab S-10

4.Should I just keep the Silverado as my "race car"?

I'm thinking a 2000lb lighter vehicle would be a lot of fun and a whole lot less destructive to parts. The silvy hase gone 12.16 @ 114 with very little tuning, but likes to eat rears and trannies and crank pullies. Should easily be a 9.xx combo in any of the above at it's full potential. Tell me what you think and why.

I'm an S10 fan myself. I just dont know how hard it will be to stuff the 6.0 with the blower under the hood. I've seen S10's with a couple hundred less HP in the 10's, so that combo would be nuts.

What he said.

But maybe that combo wont fit under the hood of the S10??? If not, the fox bodies are also very light.

I'd try to go with the S-10. I always thought that truck needed a v-8 to begin with.

I voted for the Fox body since I have yet to see a gen3 engine in one yet. Also they are very light weight and transfer weight very well.

Enjoy.

Iron block 370ci. / LS6 ported and polished heads / mac headers / th350 tranny.

2600lb race weight.

5.91 in the 1/8 on a 150 shot w/a 1.35 60ft.

The 1/8 mile time translates to about 9.27 in the 1/4.

I have to admit; the more and more I think about the fox-body swap, the more and more I like it. Can't say I'm 100% commited to any of the "ideas" yet, though.

I say S-10. In fact I was talking with a bud the other day about doing the same thing. He wants to put a old school 400 in one, and I said I'd like to put a 4.8 in one then he said "Why not a 6l"? Then the gears started turning. I just love fast trucks. Ever since GMC built the Syclone when I was 14. I would love to build a gen III powered Syclone clone
