I'd go for the 06'. A brand new vehicle will have a lower interest rate and you'll be getting a vehicle that you know the history on. You'll also have a full warrenty on anything that you don't modify. I'd also recomend looking into getting an L59 if you are going to get a regular cab or the L33 if you are going to get a 4x4 extended cab.

Wait for a new bodied 07' ! Maybe then, the rear drum brakes will be replaced with bigger disc brakes.
The 03-05' looks a lot better than the 06'! IMO. That submarine hood isn't all that stylish to me.

This might make the decision easier for some of you guys. The week I buy the truck, I will also be buying a rollpan, tailgate handle relocator kit, and a new hood...Because I dont like the hood either. And money isnt an issue, so if there are no performance issues between the 05-06's, then I would rather have the new 06 and know the trucks history like mentioned above. I think I am going to be better off with the 06 based on what has been said here on this thread. Thanks guys.

It is going to be a black RC/SB 1500 w/ 5.3 and my plans for styling mods are 2/4 drop, black 20's with a polished lip, shaved tailgate, molded rollpan, aftermarket hood, billet grille, and SS front bumper. Then the real mods begin...GO FAST mods!!

Sounds like a good plan but you do realize you will need to change your whole front end to do the look your talking about. New bumper/bumper cover, grill shell and hood! Get ready to spend some money!

If money is not a issue, why are you getting a silverado?

Look at my current dodge...I dont have a problem changing body panels out...

I swapped the hood, front bumper, rear bumper, shaved the handles, tailgate, antenna, ramhead on the grille, and repainted the entire truck, so getting a new front-end on the chevy will be a cakewalk.

Because I can make the silverado go much faster than the dodge I have now because of tuning alone...and I am ready for a change. I made an investment a few years ago that is just weeks from closing, and I will be using that money to buy the new truck. My current dodge has 60k miles of hard driving also, so I am ready for something new. I figure I will sell it while it still has some value.

BTW...Here are a couple more pics of the dodge...
