Default Should I buy it?!!

I found a 1999 GMC Sierra 1500 p/u for 6k. it has 122k miles on it. one of the knock sensors is bad they say and told me that the dealer said it would not hurt to keep running it without replacing it. This does not sound like any dealership i know of! Do these model trucks have a lot of problems in general? It has the 5.3l engine. I just dont want to buy a lemon. How urgent would it be to change the knock sensors?

it will be VERY low on power until it is replaced, the pcm thinks it is knocking and will probably be removing timing into the negatives

I think i'd pass on that personally, its not THAT good of a deal. For a couple grand more i bet you can find one lower mileage without a knock sensor problem.

either make a better deal for it. say 5000...and replace the sensor. Or like he said get you are newer no prob truck. that is low miles for an 8 year old truck though.

that truck can be had for 4500 bucks if you shop some more.

I have one with no motor and no trans, minus a seat that I will sell for 1000.00
