Default Should I buy?

I looked at new 2006 Chevy Silverado K1500 ext cab tonight.

Anything I should know about this truck before I buy?

Not many left here in STL so I do not have many color choices nor could
I find one with the gear ratio I wanted (3:73) so I will have to settle for
3:42..

Thanks for any feedback!

John

If its an 06 and doesn't have the 3.73 it has the 3.23 not the 3.42....Since its an extended cab just make sure you get the 5.3 and shy away from the 4.8 extended cabs.

Have the dealership do a search for what you are wanting. I did it when I was looking for my 05' VHO. They found the one I wanted in current transit to another dealership 25mi away. They had a guy go and get it and bring it to the dealership I was buying at.
I worked out a entire deal with a truck that they didn't even have on their lot or that I've even seen or test drove yet.
I had them come off over $7000 off MSRP on the truck when they were only offering $1500 in GM rebates.
If you really want something, make yourself to be serious to them and just ask for them to do a search throughout your state of all the dealerships.
Is a GMC or a Chevrolet both options to you? If so, that could increase your odds of finding what mechanical options, interior options, and color choice you want.

Thanks for the insight.

I used to work at the dealership about 10 years ago and still have friends there. The truck I am considering truly fits my budget most importantly and is an old unit to them so I am getting a price better than I expected.

Sure I wanted more options but maybe I should stick with what I can afford
for a change so I can afford to put some personal touches on it.
