Should I buy this 2005 Silverado that won't start?

imo i like it and would see if he would go down some but it would have to be a 2nd truck as i would want time to get it fixed but what scares me most is how dirty it is and how many miles the vid showed 161k+ miles. i know small blocks can last forever but not being ablt to drive it scares me. wonder if you could jump the starter with the key in the on position and see if it starts.

If I had extra cash laying around I'd offer him $2500 and see if he'd take it. Would be a good project to fix, then turn around and sell for a profit.

FWIW I offered him $2000. Told him I couldn't take the gamble since I didn't know if the engine runs.

His response: "It does run, so no"

Then told me he would sell the "body" for $2000. I'm done with it.

I trust him about as far as I can throw him.

LOL, if he can't start it for a prospective buyer, then it doesn't run. I'd guess he's going to have it for awhile if that's his attitute towards negotiating.
