Should i be beating a gt, ?

with my mods, what do you think i'd be running? i smoked a gt from 20 mph..... and i mean bad. i dont' consider my truck too fast, it's quick, but not real fast, i'm sporting 20's, and they sure suck up power, so i didn't expect to beat him like i did. was it just the miracle of the downshift?( by the way, god damn, why do our trucks downshift like that?) or is my truck speedy?

oh, he knew, he initiated, because he was thinking... truck with 20's should be slow. it was a 92 drop top, so i know they weigh a lil more. but i flat out fucked him up.

it depends, from some rolls our truck are dogs... but then some theyre strong, it goes along with gear ratio. not sure how it works though
the only sure way to tell is to just go from a stop
ur truck will beat a 99-02 stang, not sure about a new one

all the older stangs i see are always slow in general... unless they got the big cowl induction hood with big tires in the back and a shitload of mods. usually those things are either heavily modded, or bone stock... mainly because guys that start modding a stang tend to get the ''i gotta beat a camaro'' attitude, so they overdue it

A stock pre 94' GT Auto Vert will only run the 1/4 in about 15.8sec or sometimes worse if in dab running order. One in good shape may do it in as little as 15 flat but VERY doubtful.. They are complete dogs compared to vehicles nowadays. If it was a stick I still doubt it would run faster than a 15flat in stock trim.
The 98' up Cobras and 99+ GTs are the ones you need to be careful with. As they can easily get into the 100mph trap speeds. Again, if you're dealing with automatic convertables then you should come out the winner. I was racing one this weekend that was only running 14.9-14.8.
