Default Shifter info

Does Anybody have any info on how i could install an aftermarket floor shifter on my 2000 silverado with a 4l60e automatic. I was thinking of trying to do so with a B&M Lt megashifter or something along those lines....

I would say go to a salvage yard and get an entire strg column from a manual trans truck and install that, then cut a hole in the floor and install the new shifter. Shouldn't be much of a pain....

Good plan but will it mess with my mildly tuned ECM. That is my big concern. Summit And Jegs helplines both suggested that i not go with any type of floor shifter but, I see them all the time in Truckin Mag.
