A cooler can help alot!

I had 145k miles on my stock trans, it slipped 2nd gear one time and i put Superior Super servos in it and it lasted awhile longer. pulled it out (still holding just fine ) and put in a Built 60E. For another year i dealt with tons of transmission and Torque converter problems, Stock 80E cured them for now.

Also i believe the the EGR is disabled in his tune, its on my other computer so ill have to check when i get home. and i think i had all the setting ready for Efans in the tune also.

Removing the EGR won't help you performance-wise really, it will reduce some carbon build up in your intake and induction system though. EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) is an emission device that reduces NOx emissions by recirculating exhaust gasses back into the intake of the engine. Higher NOx emissions are caused by higher cylinder/combustion temperatures. Believe it or not, introducing the exhaust gasses into the combustion chamber actually lowers cylinder temps since the exhaust gasses are cooler than the temperatures in the cylinders/combustion chambers. Some vehicles that are equipped with EGR experience problems when the EGR is non-functional...usually higher cylinder temps that lead to detonation. If the engine is properly tuned, not overheating, and the cylinders are free of excess carbon, EGR can sometimes be deleted without problem.

When I swapped out my 99 PCM for an 02 PCM, I no longer had EGR as the 02 did not come equipped with it. I removed the EGR solenoid and pipe, and plugged the holes for asthetics. I have not experienced any problems with pinging (knock on wood). (when the EGR valve got stuck closed on my 85 MonteSS, the engine started pinging like crazy until I put a new valve in and cleaned the EGR passages...different engine, different moster though...)

Oh I understand it more now. glad you filled me in. My intake has never been cleaned or anything, only my TB but I think Ill leave the stuff like that alone to keep from throwing codes and stuff.
