Default Shaving weight on a NBS?

Hey this is my first post on this site. Hope I posted this in the right section. Im a member of FSC and GM Trucks but just got a little more performance oriented recently after going to the local 550' track to spectate and running against friends trucks here and there.

Anyway, I plan to run my truck at the local track next tuesday if all goes well.
It will be my first time to run it on an actual track.
Its a 2000 Sierra Z71 with 5.3 3.73's. Stock 4L60E and G80. Will have stock 265's installed when I run it.
has a custom tune done by NONNIESELMAN and Blackbear performance... 75% TM removed and has Vette servo's. its an ECSB, nothing special.

Im trying to run as good of a time as I can possibly run with it and here are ways I have reduced weight so far...
Removed 50+ lb sub box, removed 40 lb spare tire, remove 40lb tailgate, run the truck at or near 1/4 fuel. mabye remove the back seat?

I have more actual mods I want to do to the truck when time and money allows but right now Im trying to get it ready for a pass or 2. and info on how to do that would help me out as Ive never done this before.

thanks!

There's been a ton of posts on this subject, search here and the drag racing section. your jack can go, front swaybar , rear bumper, windsheild washer tank, A/C if you don't use it, relocate battery to rear, seats are very heavy, stereo equip too.

Some cheap mods to consider that might help....
1. The removal of the EGR....After doing so, Your tuner will need to delete from your tune.
2. Removing the front driver side head light before your passes.
3. Throttle body by-pass. http://rgvtruckperformance.net/rgvtr...read.php?t=174

food for thought

thanks for the info. nonnieselman already performed the TB bypass on it a while back.

Removing the passenger headlight with a completely stock airbox will help? I figured you would need a CAI or at least a hole in the airbox to benefit from that.
I think I might cut a hole in the lower part of my airbox and shove in a 6" wide storm drain aluminum peice from home depot... then when the headlight is gone its like a ram air.

Never heard of removing the EGR. its a daily driver in the 90 degree+ mississippi heat so Im sure the exhaust gases get hot. but Ill check into that.

Whats up man. I dont think I remember you but it might just be my memory. haha Im in Byram. you ever run at the little track over here?

One thing about this truck Ive noticed is that it will not break the tires loose from a dead stop straight forward on dry ground unless Im really trying, so unless the track isa lot slicker than normal concrete I dont think traction will be a problem. So I think Im gonna pull the tailgate and bumper and throw the tag on somewhere.

I just hope my 4L60E with 113K miles continues to hold up.

Bout time ya made it over Tyler
If im home ill come meet ya up there..

Also you can remove your heat shields above your exhaust pipe and little stuff like that.
They put some glue down so i dont think you will have a problem.
I had my old airbox but cant remember what i did with it. Ill look when i get home if you want to save yours.

You could take off the skidplate(s), good for a few pounds, and if you have a tow package, you could pull that off too. tow hooks as well
