I made a post before asking for people to host a vid to me and they said to e-mail it to them. Well, I can't e-mail a file that big. So I'm trying to use Serv-U which is an ftp client. It allows you to turn your HD into a server in a sense. I've used it in the past, but now since I have a router I can't get it to work.
I fixed the settings in my router config to allow those ports to open, and I created an anonymous account in Serv-U, so I tried a link, ftp://192.168.123.102
thats the IP the router assigns my computer, and it doesn't work. I just want to be able to have people click my link and download the vid off my HD.
Does anyone know what I need to do? What am I doing wrong?

Ok well, since I can't figure out how to link it from the web, I made an FTP accessible account if anybody wants to check it out.
IP: 192.168.123.102
login/password: chingon/chingon
port: 21
Hope that works...
If it does, yea yea, I know its just burn outs anybody can do with a V8 and a lead foot. But they look so ****** cool dont they?
Oh yea, big nuts are also needed to be able to do this...

Aw **** it, someone is going to host it for me. But that won't stop me from figuring out how to config my router. I'm too stubborn.

First off, you're giving the address of your LAN. 192.168.x.x is your local network. Unaccessible outside.
the 192.168 is correct to put in Serv-U, however you need to be sure the port forwarding points tp the correct comp on the network. Which would be say, 21 points open to 192.168.123.102.
if you really want me to help you out, just PM me your AIM or ICQ and ill help you through it
in the meantime, ill give you the info on one of my servers thats on a standard cable line to host it as well.......
just pm me
