i already read couple threads about the volant's and k&n's and some guy's
said that they build their own cai and that couple used the oem airfilter box to do it.
does anybody have some pictures of it or can tell me how to do it ?
have some ideas but i need little advice.

What kind of truck?

 

it is a 2004 4.3

 

ill get pics of mine in a couple days

 

4.3's have a different AIR intake setup then the v8 trucks do.

 

just to give em an idea to start with

 

I just cut a big *** hole in the front of the stock air box and drilled some 1 1/4 holes where I could cut. Its amazing how these trcks are supposed to breathe out of 2 little *** stock holes.

 

are they?

i took my drop in k&n filter from my V6 truck and put it in my V8 one, they looked the same to me

 

The filter box may be the same, but the tube from the box to the throttle body is different

 

well i know the tbs diff, just never realized the tube was diff 2
