Default Same old problem

So ive been putting this problem off for a while... last summer i bought a s&m roll pan, well when wiring up the light for the license plate two stripped wires touched eachother, and bam! my rear running light on the drivers side went out. (as well as the right side license plate light) The brake light lights up when i apply the brakes but no running light... so ive changed the bulb (yes its the proper two filiment bulb) changed the bulb socket, and checked every fuse both under the hood and in the cab. Is there something im over looking that could be the cause of my problem? Please help me, i like driving at night and not getting tickets. does anyone know which fuse might specifically control the rear drivers side running lights and license plate light? Thanks!

Sounds like you might have a wire blown, but not for sure. I would check continuity from the rear lamp bussing block to the socket you could have a short in the wire.

Visually the three wires from the socket to the rear lamp bussing block look good... should i go ahead and replace them? is it possible that the rear lamp bussing block got messed up some how?

Just because the wire look ok does not mean they are ok, this why you should check continuity in the wire and the buss block. Check these item first because replace good parts does not solve your problem, and you just waste money on parts that were never bad. But do keep in mind electrical problems can be easy to find and fix, and sometimes they can be hell and take days to find the problem.

If you want to spend some money, buy a complete body wiring harness that will fix your problem but it could cost you a $1,000 or so for a new one.
