Default s10 or silverado

I am thinking about just keeping my truck the way it is now before i get any deeper. I do want a project though, my mechanic says an s10 is better to build a hotrod out of. which would cost less to build? it will be a streetable hotrod probaly cam/nitrous truck. i figured a silverado would be easier to build b/c their wouldnt be as much fabrication with the engine, trans, suspension.

S10 with engine swap would kick big butt.

oh i think its badass i can get my z71 with 33" bfg at's & 18's sideways on dry roads with just boltons. i cant imagine with an s10. its just a lot easier and cheaper to find an old pos s10. and i have worked on many different silverados but never an s10 so it would be something different. also like you said not many people have done it.

well all that would be nice but i wouldnt care if it was painted flat black as long as it had 500+ hp and some 12" slicks.

If you want a hotrod there is no doubt that an s-10 is the way to go. With so many people doing v-8 swaps in them there is really no need for fabrication anymore and your power to weight ratio will be much better than with a silverado.

Also many more companies make aftermarket performance parts for s-10 (cheaper too), if our motors weren't so interchangeable with the camaro and vette engines then we would be screwed as far as performance parts go.

IMO you can't go wrong with primered s-10 with a stout smallblock and big fat rubber out back
