I just called K&N, and this sounds like a recurring problem. I almost didn't get the word "rusted" out of my mouth and the guy was telling me what to do!

If yours is rusted too, call K&N at 1-800-858-3333. There are some numbers on the rubber end of the filter that you'll need to give them. I was shocked...the guy told me to give him the numbers off of the end of it and they would send me a new one!

I haven't checked mine yet, but I know it gets wet alot so I will. Thanks for this info bro. I'll keep my eye on it more from now on.

 

The chrome portion of the filter for my FIPK kit has started to rust! Anyone else experience this? It is only rusting in the little "step" between the outer ring and the piece where the logo is.

My FIPK is less than a year old...not too thrilled with the quality. Anyone know of another filter--preferably a blue one (Volant?)--that would work in it's place? Think K&N will warranty this?
