Friday night I was going home a little before midnight along El Camino in San Mateo, when I ran into this guy I know who owns a base model auotmatic RSX, who I happened to be talking to about 30 minutes earlier. Luckily the speed limit is 35, so that was in my favor for a first gear pull. I wasn't going to go from a stop because my truck is a dog off the line. When we pulled up to a stop light he gave a thumbs up and took off sporty, so I just putted on out gingerly, caught up to him slowly, and then we pulled aside even at 40 or so. My friend in the passenger seat asked if he wanted to go and he of course nodded. I slowed to about 35 a hair under, and gave a 3 horn honk and mashed it. The truck shifted into first and I was off, by about 50-55 I had at least 2 cars and decided to let off. This run was just to give me a feel for how his car performs. We then did another 35mph roll, this time I decided to embarass his ***. I probably let off at about 85 this time, I don't know how many cars I had, but it was huge.

I almost raced some punks in a 5.0 last night, but decided I better not. It sounded pretty damn healthy so I didn't want to risk getting embarassed even though they had 3 peeps in it. Man I don't know If I should build a 60's muscle car or continue to spend thousands on my truck. If it didn't cost so much to own another car I would just put a 6.0 liter in my truck and be done, then get a 60's muscle car. Whenever I see my friends muscle cars or others, I think of how easy and cheap it would be to do it that way. I saw a 67' Chevelle with a totally build 327 on Friday night. The thing rumbled the ground at idle from about 2 blocks away lol. Cars like that give me the chills, because they're so damn cool and insane. That's what I want. What do you guys think? Just a few more months until I'm out of H.S. and have a full time job making good money, being able to get whatever in the hell I want. I'm tired of having all these goals that require money, but not having enough money at my disposal to acheive them damn it, those days will be over... VERY soon.

 

be patient. the money will come. but don't get yourself into too much trouble. having a good job and plastic can make spending $$$ on your truck/car very addicting

 

Thanks for the words of wisdom haha. Cars and trucks and anything between is and has always been my life. I live, breath, and sweat this **** and it seems everything I do revolves around them. I've had a addiction and passion for cars and trucks since I was born. Hell, I used to read Autoweek when I was 5 or 6 years old lol. Instead of spending time with a girl, I spend my time with my truck, researching anything car and truck related on the internet, or reading magazines or books. Where it gets me I don't know, but it's just a addiction that will surely stay for the rest of my time on earth....

Luckily for me, my dad is in the trades, and he knows several people who I can work for, so I don't have to waste my time at college for 4 years or more. I'm going to work for my father's friends who are electrician. I'm also thinking of picking cars up from auctions and selling them on the side to make a few grand here and there. My cousin just graduated from a real good college a year ago, and he's only making 30-40k a year at a Bank right now. In four or five years from now, I'll be making 100k a year as a journey man just from my electrical job. I'm going to take a few courses at a community college real soon, then I'm set.

 

To all those people who think you need a 4 year college education or whatever in this day in age, you can lick some donkey nuts. A lot of people seem to miss the point that it's ALL about connections and who you know. For me luckily I've got a lot

 

funny you say that. when i was single, i was having fun modding my truck. then i got a GF, then i stopped. then i was single again, now i'm back at it. i have too many hobbies (truck, fishing, golf, hockey, etc...). who has time for a GF?

 

man if you think your going tobe makeing 100k in 5years as an electrician hahahhahahhahahahaahhaha thats what i do for a living and noway in hell do i get close well maybe my best year was 76k and worked alot of overtime! so who ever told you that you will make that much in 5 years you wont even be done with trade school by then so yes you will still be in school "college" but after work and on the job training! but good luck in your chase!!!!

 

First off, let me guess...you must be part of the Union. Secondly, the pay is a helluva a lot better here in Silicon Valley....than Texas. With 5 years experience I'll get paid about $80 from Nesse electric, even heard that from their mouths. Experienced Plumbers and Electricians in the Bay Area charge over $100 dollars an hours ALL the time. 5 years of trade school lol, one year at most.
