Default Removing door panels in 05 trucks

Are the door panels the same in the 05's as they were in the 01-02's?
3-4 screws, remove sail plate, then slide the panel up?
Thank you!

idk why they would change it.. but you wont mess anything up if you try.. just be gentle with it. I'm going to guess that ya, they are the same... maybe more screws.

With GM, I'm always wondering why they do the things they do. Like using less bodyside molding on the 03 and up trucks, no underhood light, etc.
Here's another question, what install kit do I need? I found a Metra, but it says for 2003 Sierras. Is the stereo the same size from 2003-2005? Mine is a double din(has the CD/Cassette deck). I am installing a Pioneer DEH-P7700MP.
Thanks!

I'd go to a best buy or an audio place and tell them you are looking for a aftermarket radio adapter kit for a 03 silverado.. bc sometimes the sierras are diff. depending on the package they come with.. but i havent been in an 03 sierra so idk.. i would ask one of those places to be on the safe side.. they are pretty cheap i think.. and than when you put in your head unit you just use the metal clips on the back of the head unit to make it stay in place...

the one they had for my truck fit real well and got rid of the cassete deck and the radio and what not...

take a look

Careful with the window switch plate, they're screwed in now.

Good to know! Maybe I should update my write on my site to reflect that. What year did they make the switch from clips to screws?

They'd didn't actually switch, they just secured it in with a screw. So if you try to pry it out like the older ones there's a chance you'll break it. As far as I know it started in '03.

Thanks Nick for that headsup! They needed a screw(imo). Those little clips are flimsy.
GirlsDoItRight - Yours looks nice and clean. Unfortunately, mine is a full double din size. I was going to get the Pioneer 77, which is din and a half, but I don't think it will fit so I'm going with a Pioneer 7700.
I already have 3 pocket spaces on my dash/console area, now I'll be adding one more. Any ideas on what I can use all these pockets for?
