Default Rearview Mirror Thermometer

Where exactly is the actual temp sensor located on the truck?

I installed a new tranny cooler the other day and ever since then the readings on the display are a good 20-30 over what it really is. Today it claimed 130 I kjnow what 130 feels like and that wasn't 130.

It is on the front of the radiator connected to the stock tranny cooler frame.
You could easily move it to another spot.

I don't have a tranny temp guage yet. I'm talking about the outside temp guage on the rear view mirror next to the compass.

I'm THINKING I might have laid one of the new tranny lines near the thermometer so its getting innaccurate readings.

I wish my rearview mirror had the temp gauge... It shows the symbols needed to display temperature, but only displays the compass when driving. (maybe the temp isn't a 1999 Silverado feature?)

can someone please do me a favor and take a picture of this friggin thing? lol

yesterday I popped my hood and I saw a sensor mounted on the condensor right behind the tranny cooler and I thought "no ****!" so I remounted it on the bottom of the truck. I don't think it was the right one cause I'm still getting oddball temp readings.

It's the only thing with 2 wires going to it on the front of the radiator.
It looks like a cap for the plug on the end of the wires.
If you don't get it figured out by tonight I'll post a pic for you.

Default Temperature Sensor

Hope this picture can help you out. I took the picture through one of the gaps in my billet grille. When standing at the front of your truck, look to the lower right corner of your grille opening. You should be able to see the sensor. It is not that big. It is mounted to the square support bar that the transmission cooler mounts to.
