Hey guys what does one of these cars run? It is not fully broken in but he wanted to race. First we went from a 50 punch which is the top of second gear so I pulled on him and he passed me at about 110. The second time he had a passenger and we went from a 15 punch and I ran exactly side by side until 75 when I forgot I had the shifter in 2nd so I hit the rev limiter. The guy Said he was shifting at 5500 but I don't know. What does one of these usually run? He is a good M5 driver too. I was surprised at how fast my truck was.

 

I know these run AT LEAST mid to low 14's.

I recently raced an 03 Mustang Mach1. The first time I ran him it was a basically side by side race with me taking him off the line. The second run he pulled about 1/2 a car length on me. This actually made me happy and I think would suggest that my truck is running at least low 15's.

Your truck should be able to give an 03 mustang a run for its money.

 

Hey man nice story. Now the guy is saying his friend's stock Mach1 will run with a bolt on low 13 sec Z28. I guess your story is all the info I need. I'm going Mach1 hunting tomorrow

The Mach 1 runs mid 13s stock. Most GTs run low 14s stock. On the freeway, a GT is a good race for a 5.3L truck. I've raced plenty from a roll and could hold them off until my 92 mph limiter lol. From a stop, the GT will win though, they get moving much better than our tanks. As we know, ET at the track is mostly in the launch, but trap speeds tend to indicate potential. I know most GTs only run about 2 mph more than my truck did at the track (pretty sad!).

those mustang drivers you speak of must suck at driving! one of my best friends has an 02 GT m5 and he is running real low 14s in the hot weather. only mod is flowmasters. and i know for a fact the mach1's are mid 13s. i think they have the same DOHC motor as the 03 cobras just not supercharged.

 

Hey thanks for the info. I ran my 14.6 before the ASP pullies, ASM headers, and freeflowing cat back so I am probably close to a low 14.

 

A Mach 1 can hang with a stock LS1 F-bod.
Y'all keep modding those trucks. There's only one thing that impresses me more than a fast car; a fast truck.
