Default Questions for Witt with Tahoe:

I now have drag radials and a huge stall converter, about 3500, I know way too big but for $250 I couldn't turn it down. It Precision's Vigilante.
Well I ran last night at MMP and the converter did well off the line, but soon after the 330 ft mark it stops pushing me back in the seat. RPMs are high but it's feeling like the converter continues to slip quite a bit. I'm lost on what this is or what to do about it, I would hate to go back to the stock converter and loose the 60' times I gained.
What do you think I should do and can you explain to me what is going on?
I'm going to get a cam and upgrade the heads but I don't think this will cure my slipping converter. Want to talk to you in more detail about the cam and head setup sometime.
Thanks, Luke

have you done any thing with the computer since you put the verter in? mine would not lock up and it is a 3000. it is fine now that the computer is adjusted for the verter.

this is something to think about.

No, I haven't adjusted on computer. What do you adjust and what did you use?
Mine locks up at 35 mph, but at wide open throttle it seems to continue to slip a little, keeping the truck from pulling like the stock converter.

Ok, sure now question is for any of you knowlegable fellas!
thanks for any help guys

My Yank 3000 flashes about 4000rpm and does'nt lockup in first or second at full throttle. With the drag radials I just floor the accelerator from idle the converter flashes and I'm into second gear before the 60'mark.Try taking off without brake torquing and see the converter flashes past your flat spot.My converter does lockup in third about 5000rpm it feels like a fourth gear shift. How tall of a tire are you running?I'm runnng 26"tires with 3.73 gears.Did you go with a taller tire with your new wheels?
