It would probably be a good idea to run a chain through the spring and control arm to the frame, just in case the jack slips or something the spring won't fly out and hit you or your truck.

I think I had brain fade on the 3" spindle/new wheel thing, for some reason I was thinking the brake stuff didn't move with the wheel when doing the spindle. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" /> I was thinking about it today and was like "Man, what the hell was I thinking". <img border="0" alt="[Banging Head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />

I still haven't found a 3" spindle for a 1500 series truck. A couple companies make them for 2500HD and 3500 series trucks. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

I think I may call Belltech tomorrow and see if they make one thats not listed for some reason.

Just wanted to clear up the confusion. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

DO NOT use Belltech spindles on the '99+ body style. Read this post at fullsizechevy.com. http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forum/s...threadid=21092

I just pulled my Hotchkis 2/4 off, so that I can go lower. I loved the Hotchkis 2/4. I have no complaints about it at all. It still had a slight rake to it. It did ride a little firmer than stock, but not unbearable (more like a sports car ride) and it handled awesome.

I just ordered my DJM 4/6 Calmax 2 drop today. I have heard nothing but good things about this kit. The DJM control arms are supposed to be awesome. And there is nothing wrong with the DJM C-notch. The Belltech is a little stronger, but it is definitely not worth the extra money. You can buy the whole DJM 4/6 kit for $395, but if you order the DJM control arms and the Belltech flip kit you will spend well over $500.

Hope I answered some of your questions and feel free to ask me anymore questions you might have. I have talked to many people that have the DJM kits (2/4 and 4/6) and have had the Hotchkis 2/4.

OK, thanks for the heads up. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

What about AIM industries stuff. I see they have a 3" lower control arm for the front. What do you think about that? Here is a link.

http://www.truckn-store.com/product....lt.asp&ID=9404

Also, what about there product quality in general? I've been out of the lowered truck scene for about 7-8 years so help me out. I only want to do this once. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

DO NOT buy AIM products!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot stress that enough. I have heard so many horror stories with their products. I have only heard of a couple people not running into problems with AIM stuff, and have heard of 10+ people running into problems. And then AIM had terrible customer service when there was a problem. I know this from experience also, because I ran AIM products on my '96 Ranger. They must have huge tolerances on their products because they were all out of whack. I couldn't get it aligned correctly for my life. Thanks goodness I worked a Discount Tire at the time because I was going through tires like crazy with the alignment issues.

A few other products to stay away from are:

1. DJM Toxic shocks.
2. Belltech Nitro Drop shocks (Belltech Nitro Active shocks are good, that is what I am going to run on my 4/6. Doestch Tech makes a good shock also. I had those on my Hotchkis 2/4.)
3. Most importantly <img border="0" alt="[guns]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_guns.gif" /> shAIM crap!!!

Drop me an e-mail and I can tell you where to pick up some of these products at good prices. They aren't sponsors of this site, but none of the sponsors here sell these products.

DLM front

Belltech rear

Nitro Active shocks (same as drop shocks just more pressure)

It is worth the $ for Belltech flip kit if you are going to put stress on the frame. It is much stiffer and way better designed than the DJM kit.

AIM is in Phoenix- they carry cheap stuff. I wouldn't go that route

If you are doing the work yourself, cool, it's pretty easy just time consuming in the rear (DON'T use a plasma cutter on these frames) use a sawzle or pnumatic cutoff tool. You may need a couple of buddies to sit in the truck before the front coils will compress- they are strong on these trucks. Good Luck

OK, NO AIM products. Got it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Front

- DJM 2" lower arms
- 1" Belltech springs

Back

- Belltech 4" rear hanger and shackle kit
- Belltech c-notch

I get to break out the sawzall. <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

Damn, I gots me a cheap *** lowered truck then. I have AIM products on my truck. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" /> I will NEVER buy anything from them again. Here is my story.

1st time:
Ordered: 2/4 drop ( 2"springs, shackles, hangers, pinion shims)

Recieved: 3/4 drop (3" springs, shackles, Jacked up hanger that we had to cut to get the leaf to fit , pinion shims)

2nd time:
ordered: 4-spring cushions, 2-pancake bumpstops, 2-shock extenderes with bolts

Recieved: 2 spring cushions, 0 pancake bumpstops, 2- shock extenders, NO BOLTS

Yes they suck and so does customer service, shipping charges, and quality.

I have 3" springs in front and a set of shackles and hangers in back for a 4" drop.actually they sent me 1' hangers and i drilled a hole 1:above the other,so actually for some reason it came out a 3" in front and a 4.5" in the back.I have had NO PROBLEMS.I have pics of my truck if you would like to see.
