Default Question with swaping LQ4 in to 2002 1500 4X4

I bought a LQ4 out of a 2000 2500 with 57,000 miles. My only plans for the motor is to port my LS1 heads off my 2000 Camaro and bolt them on and a small cam. The only concern I have will the LQ4 bolt up to my trans? I am almost sure it should but want to be prepared since this is my DD.

I believe that it will bolt up as long as you use the flywheel that's in there now.

99% sure that a 00' 6.0 has the extended crank flange and will not bolt in without a different flywheel or spacer or something. Do a seach on crank flange both here and on LS1tech and I'm sure you'll find out what you need to know. Also who's porting your heads?

Crap, that's right, I didn't notice that the 6.0 was out of a 00...they have the longer crank and will only bolt up to a 4L80E as far as I know...

Ok so with out swapping cranks, the 2000 LQ4 will not fit in my truck? Is it only the 2000 Cranks that are longer? Is it the length the only problem with the crank? Sorry for all the questions, I just don't want to pull the motor in my DD and the 6.0 not bolt up.

Thanks

As far as I know, the 99-00 have the longer crank, as well as iron heads, and those are the only differences from the 01+. Where the crank bolts to the flywheel is longer on the older ones, if you looked at the back of the block you'd see the crank sticking out about 1/4" (or so, not sure exactly), while the 01+'s are more flush looking with the rear main. The 99-00 will not bolt up to a 4L60E without swapping in a newer crank. If you swapped the crank you could still use the block though

Not all 99-00 had iron heads but they did all have the longer crank flange.

Now you have nothing else you can do but stroke it.

NO! NOT THAT... THE ENGINE!
