Question about the auto headlights on an 06 model...

how about without remote start, i just don't want my HIDs to come on everytime i crank my truck in the shade, dusk, etc. any idea, is these a way to just override the system all together??

Or it seems you could add a small light source that will shine directly in front of the sensor that picks up ambient light.

The easiest way is to disable the light sensor in the dash by adding a switch


****The following information is from my 2004 GM Full Size shop manuals, use at your own risk ****

Disconnect connector C3 from the BCM, 24 pin Brown connector
Cut the white wire A4 and put a switch between the cut wires.
Reconnect the C3 Connector

So... When you leave the truck off for the night just turn off the switch, and when you want the lights to work normally just turn on the switch.

**** I have not done this mod, but from what I read in the schematics this should work, I take no responsibility for the information provided****

This is assuming that the remote start is not turning on the lights either..
