We're short at work so I'm picking up an extra shift, working 2100-0700 hours. Doing this will save me 10 hours of vacation time since I took this weekend off to watch my son's basketball team play in the playoffs for his league, 13 year olds. Anyone else working a night shift tonight? I'm a stationary engineer in a local hospital and work in the boiler room. Tonight, I've got the watch.

i just got off work myself. not really graveyard but i've worked a few nights till 1:30am or so. driving around on the fork lift sure does make the knees stiff too...not good when you're 6'4".

 

I'm 6'3" myself. Yep, I know about stiff knees and other pains, being 44 years old, I'm starting to feel it a little. My normal shift is 1200-2200 hours, the night engineer needed the night off so I said I would cover his shift. At 0400, I may wish I hadn't volunteered.

It's a local hospital in Walnut Creek California, John Muir Medical Center, I've been here 23 years.

I work this GOD awful shift; It has about ruined my life. My wife kicks me out of my own house about once a month. Don't have any tan any more, you end up sleeping during the day. I just bid on a new job that will take me to California. Hope my truck can hold my crap I ain't commin back.

 

i work the night shift here in the 'Gani. dont know if any of you guys are still up though. my shift is 1500-0300... 6 days a week, 12 hours a day. recently got switched to two 6 hour days and 7 days a week to make up for the day off.

i dont get overtime either.... it blows.

 

Damn dude! The military can work you like a dog and pay you your base pay? If you got OT, you'd be making some serious money!
