well i had my transmission switched out today, they fudged my exhaust in the process, my gear selector doesnt read properly, and im seeing a temperature rise after a burst of acceleration, i wanst even in the throttle fully. 4th feels kind of soft. its supposed to have a revised shift kit in it, and a redesigned sun gear, i think he called it.the first two are all well and good, he has been informed of them and will be fixing them tomorrow. the third worries me... is it the transmission... or do i need an external cooler? im not looking forward to butting heads over transmission woes. i should have gotten a standard... then again those suck too. why did i buy a gm again?

because i wouldnt have it any other way

your gear selector doesnt read properly bc of the shifter cable. mine did the same thing when i threw in my FLP tranny. quick and inexpensive fix though.

edit.....i just saw you got it fixed.....nvm...lol

Did you have a shop rebuild it or did you buy a "built" unit?

i suppose its a "built" unit. i guess the hard parts are the same, but it has new internals. band, torque converter, redesigned sun gear, and a "shift kit" that specifically addresses some of the 4l60e`s shortcomings ie p1870 brutal first second shift-take off shudder and so on. this second transmission seems to be doing fine so far... but now im having a cooling problem which i dont think is attributable to the transmission anymore. it seems to be one thing after another with this truck... i already dealt with this cooling problem last year and thought i had it fixed via rotting the radiator. oh well, guess thats another thread. thanks for the responses
