Default Prolly gettin an 07 harley...

anyone rode the new fuel inj 96 ci? Ive been against harleys bc of the carb, but now theyre 96ci and fi. Anyone have any opinions on these and where to get a good price close to mississippi? I say close.. i mean like within a days drive or so. Im looking at a blue electra glide standard. Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Derek

I know a guy who just bought a 07 FXSTC (Softail Custom) He had to drive to 3 different states to find a dealer who would sell an 07, This was 2 mo agot though.

To be quite honest... Its so plain, boring and expensive 20k. Dont let the pics fool you it is awful lookin. Im not bashing Harleys... I love them, But lost alot of respect for them after I saw this pos. I feel embarassed for him when I see him ride its a punk..

The engine is the best part of the bike 96 ci Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection.
The only issue with them is the 02 sensors makes finding after market pipes real hard. No one makes them yet. I would just buy pipes and weld some bungs in myself, but most harley guys dont want to do this.

Another good thing is the ecu is fully programable, But need a High end tunner like the Techno research tool.. The Power Comander or Techlusion dont support it yet and dont know if they will...

And what's wrong with carbs?
I ride a 15 year old bike (electraglide sport) that looks as good (or better) than a new bike! Seriously, the best deal going is an '03-'05 . There is a lot more aftermarket and less BS. They're much less expensive too.

Your choice of the FLT Electroglide is a great choice. If I was to buy a new bike i'd be looking for a Road Glide or Electraglide.

The new 96's are pretty wheezy with the emissions and junk on them and still pretty mild with mods. Nice looking bikes but not performance wise.

The EFI is nice. I have the similar Delphi EFI on my V-Rod and also have the Race Tuner which allows my to adjust fuel and timing along with other areas. Very handy.

Default the only thing with carbs...

i would like to go to the mtns and i dont want to have to worry about adjusting the mixture you know. Nothing AGAINST carbs, just a preference.

I ride at Sea level and in 4 hrs am in the High Sierras with no problems. I agree fi has it's benefits, I'm just kinda old school when it comes to HD's. I feel like modernizing a HD is an Oxymoron!
