Question sellin my Z71 . need op on new truck?

sup yall, heres the deal im tired of my slow high milage 4x4 now its a 99 and i have 160k on it and counting, great truck no probs flawless condition, but i sellin it and gettin a new truck , so heres the question. would you guys get a brand new silv with a ext cab or reg cab. with a 5.3 of course, i never used my 4wd any more , i bought an old jeep for that. hahah. also what times do you think a stock 04 reg cab with a 5.3 with a 3.73 would run/ext cab? im gettin one within in the next month or so, any help would be nice, thanks, denny.

I'd just get a 6.0L HD ext.cab 4x4. It's a bit on the heavy side but has a perfect motor and trans for modding heavily AND you have the benifit of 4wd for insane launches on the street and if ya still need to go offroad ya got it. I wish I had gone with one instead of mine.

Ohh, mod for mod the HD is gonna be faster than the 5.3L.

I'd venture to guess somewhere in the mid 15s, we have a 02 GMC 5.3, 4 speed auto 3.42 rear end reg cab SL model, I ran a best of 15.9 in my car and it'll outrun my car everytime without a problem. My friend has a 99 5.3 ext cab that runs well, i'd say high 15's low 16's. Hope this helps some

I have the 04 regular cab, 3.73 with 5.3. I took to a track for the firs time completely stock and ran a 15.2. This is on some heavy 20's and the engine only had 400 miles on it. I am hopping to go back soon and try to get a little more. extended cab would proabbly be high 15 low 16 I am guessing of course.

Hey, since you are in Louisiana you might as well ask your dealer about the Silverado Performance Package (B4V)....Ext-cab 1500 with High Output 6.0 LQ9, G80, 3.73, 20" wheels. You can only get them in TX/OK/LA.

I don't mean to mess up your thread but, do you have the center console in your truck. If so I would be interested in buying it.

Same thing I told Pewter03GMC when he was considering a Z71 like mine...look at a 2500HD or a 2500 ECSB 4x4. You've got the 6.0, 4L80E, 9.25 IFS, 9.5" or 10.5" rear axle. Also 4.10:1 gears...

If I wasn't going diesel power, a 2500 or 2500HD is what'd I do for the gas motor.

Only thing is it's going to be tough to find some wheels for the 8 lugs!

i think ill go with the single cab fleetside 5.3 with the 3.73's , i love the hd's but to much truck for me, plus my friend has and 03 quadcab 2500 4x4 with the 6.0 and gets bad gas milage, but i guess it isnt bad since its so heavy and a hell of a truck. i just need sumthin simple. i did see some new trucks one of my local dealership has its en ext cab with the 5.3 but with chevys new factory 20's and corsa exh. not sure if they did it or what but they wanted like 35k for it i laughed and walked off. did i mention i dont want to spend over 25k, i have a few other expensive hobbies also, hehehe,.. intend on making it look like a single cab ss except one that can smoke a mustang gt and a ford lightning without the juice.
