I was helping "IFRYRCE" work on his T/A today and he mentioned that we should try to fit a 6-speed Allison in my '01 Silverado (The engine would end up being a 402 or a 6.2 DMax). Does anyone have ... "instructions" on how to set this up or if it would be possible to link an Allison to a 402?
I saw that "DLH2006's" friend fit the whole 6.2 DMax assembly into an '03 Silverado. But, I don't really want to turn mine into a diesel.
Any advice?

I'm not positive, but I think if you could get them bolted together you'd still be having other major issues. The Alison is designed to be placed behind a diesel motor, which tachs out at around 4,000 rpms (I don't know exactly, estimate). When you start spinning that tranny to 6,000+ behind a gas motor it may end up being a disaster... just something to consider.

There might also be big time PCM / tune trouble with that mating. Isn't the Allison electronically controlled in the diesels? I'm not sure anyone has a kit for mating it's sensors and plugs to the gas harness. You might be able to get the tranny segement copied the way we do 80Es, but there may be more to it than that since the diesels have completely seperate operating systems (and PCMs??).
