Default A/C Problem?! Need help its HOT out!!!

Ok so I was inside my truck with it running today and cranked the ac while i was vacuuming it, cuz its 100+ deg. outside, and all of a sudden the ac stopped blowing, and i smelled like an electrical fire smell. Ive smelled it before so i know what it smells like. Seems to hasve been from the passenger side, so i shut the truck off and looked for smoke and noise etc. I checked under that panel on the pass side of the dash to see if anything is cooked, but seems to be fine! My ac works fine on settings 1-4 on the ****, but when it clicks and hits 5, it shuts off completely...any ideas? hurry!

I thought that the resistor was only in the circuit on lower speeds. Isn't high speed a full 12 volts?

high speed also travels through the resistor pack since the blower motor plug comes from the resistors

as said befor do the resistor pack and pigtail- when you pull the connector off most likely it will be burnt up

you will have to check your fuses in the underhood fuse block. when the connector melts it usually takes out the fuse for the high speed.
