Default Is it possible

to gwt a 5.3 with 3.73 gears to get into the high 12's without nos or forced induction ?

With a big enough cam and torque converter with all the supporting mods I think it can be done fairly easy. It might not be that practical if its a dd.

Gonna be tough N/A in an extra cab...good heads, decent cam, spot on tune, TRACTION, and a loose converter might get you 12.9 when the DA is perfect in New Jersey...have to be early or late in the season...can't remember if you're 4x4 or not Jeff...if not, you'll need some slicks I'd think. bluecajun got 12's in this rcsb with a TR220, 3200 converter, 4.10's and slicks, on stock heads...but his truck is a freak

didn't Edgar just run 12.1x or something?

No idea what gearing he had, most likly something a little lower (or is it higher, damn math!)

That's damn good, but I'll bet that he has lower gears. (I think high=highway...I think lol, I always screw that up too ha ha). Maybe with a 26" tire the 3.73's could rock it? I'm horrible at guessing times and HP...

numerically higher gears = lower ratio

Yes, of course, but do you say lower or higher? Like as in swapping 4:10 for 3:23?
