It depends on the plug and application also...if it's a stock truck with platinum or iridium plugs, you can probably get 100k no probs. If the engine's worked, tuned, etc., and you're running copper plugs, 20-25k would be more appropriate. As for wires, they'll pretty much last until they fall apart or the insulation dries up, or one or two of them just wears out. I changed mine after 5 years of owning the truck (with very low miles...less than 40k at the time), just for the heck of it...went with MSD's for no good reason. I kept my stockers as a back up though just in case I run into an issue I have them for an emergency. Besides being dirty, they were like new when I replaced them.

One thing I did find interesting though, I swapped my plugs to try out some different things (everybody seems to love NGK TR55's around here, and for a buck and a quarter a plug, I said what the heck), and when I checked the gaps on the factory platinums, they were very inconsistent, ranging from .040 to .065.

As for Iridium Plugs, if you decide to check/adjust the gap on them, be very careful. The tip of the electrode is very tiny and shouldn't be pried against, as it can easily break off, and you wouldn't even know it. If you have to adjust the gap, touch the ground only...you can use needle nose pliers, or there's a special tool that slides over the ground to pry it back without prying against the electrode.

about every 10k miles on the plugs and about 30k on the wires, reason is shifting out at 6800 everyday they don't last long.

any one know the diffrence between the stock red wires and the stock black wires? my 04' silverado had red wires and my tahoe has black ones.

there pretty much the same. Geez, cant you leave anything stock? lol I cant either.

The only reason I changed the ones in my Silvy so much was the fuel I ran and the way I beat on it.

Hey, lets see who gets the first 13 second time slip with there pig SUV. Its finnaly cold down here and I believe the tracks still open. I may be headed to Seguin or Little River pretty soon with a full bottle.

well i guess i have the Iridium Plugs, they say ac delco/ngk on them lol. best of both worlds i guess. found the diff in wires the black ones are really short and for diffrent coil packs i guess. plugs were a bitch to loosen up and get out so they are defenatly stock. some had some black powder looking on them but i think it was just were i broke free the carbon build up. is it ok if the nuts on them are alittle rusty?

good luck at the track. you'll need it to get a 13 lol.

the rust is ok as long as its just surface rust ya know. I changed my plugs when I did the headers since it was easy then. went with ngk tr-55's. I need to get some plug wires since I have a little clearance issue with the longtubes, other than that the manual says 30k on the wires I think and 15k for the plugs? I dont remember really. Its a good idea to replace them often IMO.
