Please help.. Why does my TB look like it caught fire?
#1
I just got around to taking my throttle body off to clean and port it and the back of the blade looks like it has spent the last year in a forest fire. Is this normal or is this a sign that something may be up?

i clean my TB about 2-3 times a year.
anyone here take the entire TB off? i haven't yet, but am think about it so i can clean every nook and cranny.
when taking the TB off, do you need to replace the gasket?

The gasket on mine stayed in place on the manifold and looked good so I left it. It took me quite some time to get it clean. I used soapy water and a toothbush, scrubber, and even a flathead screwdriver!!! Im just now going to get started on the porting. Wish me luck!!
I still cant believe how bad it looked behind the blade. It was unbelievable!
