Default Please Help!! 2008 silverado 4x4

Hello i need some help with my truck it has a 4.8 liter motor in it i need some ideas as to make it faster and stronger i dont know much about this sort of thing so feel free to be as descriptive as possible lol. i had some ideas like to convert it to a 5.3 but i have no idea as to how to do that or even if its possible but thanks for your time and i look forward to hearing back from you


It is a 2008 red regular cab regular bed 4x4 4.8 liter chevrolet silverado 1500

custom tune, headers, and gears=totally different truck.

save up for a 6.0 swap. best bang for the buck

Forgive the rude welcome to the site by one of the earlier ******** that posted to your thread.

It's your first time here most of us are pretty helpful I like to think, if you have something in the wrong place no biggie it will get moved but it's no big deal.

Bar none the most cost effective and reliable route is to dump the 4.8 and slam dunk a 6.0 into it.

Have fun cruise the sight and ask lots of questions

What do you use your truck for and what are your goals. Do u tow? Is it a daily driver and are u on a budget?

im only 16 so i just ride but i live on a farm so every once in a while ill tow i really want it to go fast lol but all around performance would be best

Welcome over! I agree with a 6.0 swap, though it will drink more gas (prob 12 mpg city and 16 highway) than your 4.8.

What's your budget and what are your needs for the truck (towing, lots of highway miles, reliable daily driver, etc)?

@the Ripe age of 16 I would get some seat time behind the little ol 4.8L before jumping off into making it faster
