I was wondering if anyone knows how to get the grab handle part off so you can prep & paint these things body color, since my truck isn't black? They seem to be riveted on the back or something, it's hard to explain, but check out the stock handles, they are the same. Also how do you paint them to match, would spray paint work if I took my time or should I just pay the body shop $80 to do it? Heck for $50 I could order 01 Tahoe LT bright red handles and swap the grab part with the Escalade chrome one.

just tape the handle and paint over it;
thats what i did with the bowtie i had on my chevy when i painted it red/ just had to newspaper around it so i wouldnt get oversray on the grille or hood. $80.00 to paint handles?
no way; tell you what send them to me and i can probably get them painted for about $10.00 / $15.00 max; i got a good friend that owns a body shop; he offered to paint the door handles, bottom fog light bumper, and the tailgate handle, and the black around my mirrors for $150.00 / when i had the silverado; send them to me, i'll get you hooked up; we'll match the factory color code so they'll match up. let me know.

Chrome and black is the way to go.

I've considered gettin those before, but never really saw em on truck, a black one at that......just might have to get em now lol.......65 bucks? Can't argue with that.....They would go great with my chrome on my mirrors These plastic handles are gettin old real fast......

Anyway, looks good

Good looking handles, chrome matches trim well. If I can get the bodyshop to ever fix the last time I got run into I am planning to get handles from a Tahoe fully painted pewter from a salvage yard to have factory paint. The only chrome for me is bumpers and wheels(shinny aluminum). I also like the Chevy look better, I like the smaller openings with the middle bar. I also want a pewter painted grille from a 2002 Z71 Tahoe .

hey 02-z71,

Lemme know if you can get handles painted for 10-15 bux because I just ordered some smooth ones to be painted body color. I have painted other stuff on my truck but i thought the handles would come apart to paint easier. I just started painting so if you can get them professionally done for that price then I'll send you mine too. Thanks!!

02 Z71 looks like you and your bud will be painting handles for the next few days Thanks for the offer but I decided I will someday just get the Tahoe door handles (and GMC body molding) and sell my Escalade handles on here. However 02 Z71 if your friend can get a stepside roll pan I might order one from him. But I don't get paid for 2 more weeks.
