I am looking at buying a 2006 Silverado grille shell and all I can find is aftermarket, not OEM. Does anyone have a picture of what they look like on the truck? How is the fit and how is the emblem recess in the middle? Is the emblem covered all the way around?

The ones I'm looking at on rockauto gm1200586, which is paint to match or gm1200546 which is chrome like stock. All I can find is their catalog photos.

If its factory aftermarket replacement it shoukd fit like a factory grille

 

What I would like to know is if the emblem recess is all the way around or if its missing on the top. When i type in part number gm1200586 for example I find two different pictures so I would like to know if anyone has bought an aftermarket grill and how it looked.





Notice in the second pic the emblem recess is missing on the top and bottom.

 

Damn that is kinda messsed up, especially with same pn coming up with different pics....

 

Normally aftermarket would be missing top and bottom recess. This is due to licensing issues.

I have the same problem with these two Tahoe grilles. It's a bitch when you're not expecting it.

Theyre where i got my hood for my 99 from, i want to say theyre also know as perfect fit group and autoparts warehouse

 

I also got pics of a chrome one GM1200546 and you can see it is missing the top and bottom parts of the bowtie

 

The full bowtie surround is an OEM part. The other is aftermarket.
