Default Performance and the Gas Gauge

It seems to me that my truck doesn't perform as well when the gas gauge drops below a 1/4 tank.

I recently read a post by trever1t where he said NOT to let the truck get below 1/4, because it would affect performance. But I thinkthis refering to the Walbro kit (??)

Is this possible (reduced performance with reduced gas), or am I just making **** up in my head?

I've noticed this with my truck too....when I'm under 1/4 of a tank, my truck is a bit of a dog, and I've noticed that my vacuum gauge reads almost 1 mm/hg lower. Not sure if it has to do with the way the fuel pump picks up, or if theres a pinhole in the fuel pump supply tube that needs to be submerged or what. I once thought that it could be a tuning thing (pcm goes into a sort of economy mode), but I think that I was over thinking it lol.

But yes, you're not alone

In light of this, I will have to pay more attention when I get to that level and see if I fall into this category as well.
