Default Paint guys chime in

My dad was telling me of a friend of his who has a new Southern Comfort Chevy. He was backing out of the garage and his mirror smacked the door...flew back and broke. They are heated mirrors soo all the contents in the mirror ran down the side of the truck and ruined the paint...and we all know what SOCO trucks have as paintjob...The fade.....anyway....will the entire truck have to be painted?..just one side?...will a good dealership body shop be able to repair it?...or does it need to go to just a body shop?..or back to SOCO.....any input is appreciated..TIA

That sucks. A good paint shop should be able to get the paint codes from SOCO and match them. Then they should only have to repaint the door that was affected and maybe blend into the panels if it was bad, but most likely not. Still looking at $800 I bet, just to prep and paint and put the door back together.

With one of those nifty little fade paint jobs you are probably looking at closer to a grand for the mirror, new paint, prep, and shoot all of the effected panels. That sucks though... they are pretty nice trucks.

the door will have to be painted and they will more than likely blend into the panels beside it(the fender and the rear door). youll be looking at around 500-800 to get it done right. theres not much labor involved in fixing that door. a mirror is not to to expensive either.

It may be difficult to find a production bodyshop that can do a fade. It's all according to where you are. What were the colors? A tan/beige to a dark color on top. Good luck.
