Default Out with the old in with the new 56k maybe

I finally got verything together to start the swap on the 81 c10, we worked on it for about 10 hours today, taking the tired 305 out and dropping the 5.3 in. Tell me what you guys think

Nice job guys! You will love the extra power over that 305! Mine ran a 19.9 1/4 with the 305.

well it was all going good, until we try lining up the drivers side mount, it was way off. So we redrilled the holes in the motor mount cup and it was fixed. Now onto the street and performance mount adapters did not allow the th350 to bolt in the stock location which is holding me up. I have to modify the crossmember either way i go. I was gonna try and use the th350 until i could afford the 4l80. but now i will have to mod. the crossmember 2 times if i use the th350. It sounds stupid but it bothers me having to do something twice, then you have to have 2 drive shafts made. Oh well if it was easy everyone would do it.

Anyhow after my rant, I am happy with the swap.

this is a neat swap... If I ever do a swap like this its going to be a 5.3L bored out to 4.125 with a t-56 in a stripped 3rd gen camaro.

I don't see an exhaust manifold on the driver-side, is there some interference there?

So the factory mounts pretty much bolted up? What are you doing about a wiring harness? The reason I ask is my friend is interested in doing the same thing eventually and a little info never hurts. Thanks! The 5.3 looks better than that old 305.
