I have been thinkin lately, I want to get a cheaper payment. What is the best route of ordering a new GMC/Chevy truck as far as options. Id really like a 5.3 in a 2wd RCSB form. When you get the 5.3L motor is that all part of one particular option that includes power windows, etc etc....
Just wondering basically if you can order a fairly stripped truck with the 5.3L motor ....
The payments on my Denali are ....

well when I was looking a few months back all the 5.3 trucks came with power windows and locks. Now other then that their are alot of options. I paid $20,150 for my truck and it has everything but xm radio, 4 wheel drive, leather which doesn't come on the regular cabs anymore. So you have a vast choice but as soon as you step up to the 5.3 most dealerships only carry these trucks pretty much loaded. My sticker was $27,500 so their was a lot of leeway on dealing. Good luck on the hunt.

Just get option code LM7. You should be able to get that with any equipment package.
Have you thought about getting a 4.8 and swapping in a 6.0? That would save you some money in the long run, but would require a bigger hit at once.

That's a beautiful truck you have there.
I've already been thinking about my new truck project in a 3+ years time. Going by the current truck specs, I want a 2wd, RCSB, 4.8, with a manual tranny. I don't want a dang thing added besides a nice factory stereo. No AC (it'll most like get yanked if it's forced on me), no power windows, no power seats. Nothing.
The plan would be to pull out the motor and trans, and drop in AT LEAST a 5.7 LS1 bolted to a T56, turning a Ford 9". As ridiculous as it might sound - I'd want to set it up for road-course work. No towing, no hauling. A simple little hooligan truck that can handle.
I can dream, right?

If you wanted one with the options you choose, go to the dealership and ask to speak with the fleet sales manager so you can order the vehicle with the options you want at invoice.
BTW, unless they have changed, you will not be able to get power windows on a base model truck, thats how it was in 2000. The base models have a different door panel design than the LS and LT trucks.
You will have to wait 6 weeks or so, but you will get a vehicle that noone else has had and it will show up with exactly what you do and dont want on it.

If it were me, Id look for a clean 4.8 rcsb used. Some will allow you to finance for 5 years on used vehicles. Id then drop a low mile 6.0 in and go from there. A savings of 300-400 a month will cover alot of mods real fast!!
Those 20's would like nice on there too.
It would really depend on how bad the dealership would slap your head on your truck.
