Default Ordering pulleys Need help.

I am ordering some asp pullies today from T Byrne. On there website they have 2 packages, one for $249 ad the other for $279. I all want is the crank and maybe the belts. I really don't care for the alt pulley. My question is basically the difference between those 2 is that one comes with alt pulley and the other one does not?

Go with the alternator pulley if you are running a lot of stereo equipment or are planning electric fans anything that you need a full charge at idle with.Watching your headlights dim at idle is a drag.

Yep, that's the only difference between those two. If you don't want the alt pulley get the $249.99 one.

I got the kit w/ alt pulley and it doesn't charge at idle. you're asking a good question and one that I didn't ask when I bought mine. The alt pulley I got is bigger than the stock one and it doesn't turn fast enough to charge at idle.

when you buy the pulley(s), just buy the crank pulley alone, if you get the set it will come with the underdrive alt pulley which will leave you strugling for power especially with fans and a stereo, then you could order the overdrive pulley from asp direct, which will help bring back your charging.. correct me if i am wrong anyone....

dont waste your money on pulleys. some people say that they help but i have tried them and could feel nothing different. there have also been magazine articles that showed only a 1-3hp gain depending on the application.

What is everyone's opinion on this. Did you all feel a difference after installing the crank pulley. I think there was a thread where did a before and after dyno run and just the crank yields about 12 rwhp. I think 1-3 hp is only for the alt pulley.
