I had a custom box built that has two 10" JL's behind each seat, with the amps displayed behind the center counsle. I only lost 1" of space, which is not bad because I am 5'10". I have had some friends that were 6' plus in my truck, and they still have some room. If you go bigger than 10's, like 12's, you will loose a lot more space. That is why I chose my 10's and I have never regreted it. Check out my web page and there are some pics of my setup.

For my amps, I have a PPI 400 watt amp powering the subs, and a PPI 300 watt amp powering my Boston Pro Series componants.

I use to compete in audio comp. for a a few years. Ive done audiofle systems to spl systems. I also am 6'3" in a standard cab. What are you lookin for? Spl or quality. I havent yet put a sub in. But im going to this weekend after 1 year of thought. Im going with 1 10" behind the passenger seat. Ive got a pioneer Head with MB Quarts components off of a Rockford punch 100. Im going to use another punch for the 10". Its all how much $ you have, and what you desire.

Well my tunes are kinda Mickey Mouse compared to you pros but here is what I have in me reg cab:

1-JL Audio 10" behind the passenger seat
1- 75w Prologic 2 channel amp, bridged
stock door speakers running off the head unit(will be putting an amp on them soon though)
Premier(Pioneer)720 Head unit, 45wX4

Plenty of base for me but needs some tweats and another amp. Engine mods must come first though <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

JL has some good tight volume enclosure subs and the Infinity perfect's are not too bad either.

Should I ever finish my motor mods I'll be installing my system from my previous car(s). I have some BA 6.53 components I'll be putting back in the doors with some glass-work for the 6" door sub enclsoure. I plan on complimenting the components with 2 BA 8.2 subs sealed in the lower corners behind he seat and the 10" JLW2 running BP in the center. The tough part is designing all this to fit with the two nitrous bottles...Band pass is going to need some enclosure volume.

I still have a few MTX thunder 2300's and a 4300 to compliment the headunit.

i have 2 JBL 6.5 door speakers, 2 kicker tweeters in the doors also, 2 4x6 infinity kappas in the rear, 2 10" MTX subs.
the 4 speakers and 2 tweeters are pushed by a 4 channel 250w MTX amp, and each 10" sub is being pushed by its own 200w amp. so you could say i have 8 speakers and 3 amps. i still need to do some work on it, dont have it sounding like i want it to. have a little speaker nois i am having trouble getting rid of. i want to add a crossover to it to get a little better nois out of my mids and high's and i need to get my 10" subs to hit harder.
if anyone knows how i can do this let me know.

Default opinions on subs

i need some advice on subwoofers. i'm 6'3" and i have a 36" inseam so space behind the drivers seat in my standard cab truck is limited. i wanna put some subs in the truck though. i already have an alpine head unit with pre-outs. i was wondering if it would be better to put two small subs behind each seat or just one big one behind the center console.

what are your opinions on the hardest hitting single sub?

I am also 6'3" and am running two JL 10W0-8 behind each seat and I am perfectly comfortable. I designed and built the enclosure myself though. I positioned my seat to my normal driving position and measured the space I had to work with. Everything worked out good. Here are some pics:
