Default ok... need some help...

i need pictures of the passenger exhaust manifold... i need a picture from a truck that was sold in cali and one that wasnt... i need to figure out if my truck has an air injection pump.... i dont think i do, but i had my stepdad look for me, and what he describes, it sounds like it does.

he said there is a cylintrical lookin thing coming from the top of the manifold with a tube about 3/8 in. thick... w/ 2 bolts 180 degrees apart... he also said there were wires coming out of it... i dont remember seeing wires on my impala though, (the injection pump was on the drivers side also) maybe it changed from 96 to 2000... i just want to see some pics to verify... thanks to everyone who helps me out with this!

I dont think mine has A.I.R. (Air Injection Reactor) If it does, I have no clue where the pump is!

That is a pic of the EGR valve. I believe thats the cylindrical object you are referring too.

ok.. thats what he was talking about.. the EGR.. in the first pic

... but then in the second picture i see the right above the A/C line, and inbetween that and the radiator overflow hose... there seems to be something going in there... is that the A.I.R. line?

geez.. this is such a bitch!

edit: Brian, would the hose be noticeable... my stepdad tried looking for all the lines coming to and fro from the manifold and the only one he seemed to describe to me is the EGR...

Are you talking about the 2 rubber lines?? Those are going to the heater core. I just went out and looked under my hood. I dont see anything at the back of the passenger side fender. Unless Im not looking hard enough.

not the heater core lines, but where the coolant reservoir line overlaps the A/C line in the pic... right inbetween those i see a tube bolted in.
