damn, i wish you guys were my close friends, all my friends i hang with are giving me so much **** about this, its kinda discouraging, but I've never really given a **** what they think because I'll never let anyone tell me what to do.
That's why I like this site, sure Ill have some people that wont agree, and give me points that backup their not agreeing with me, but its in a constructive manner. I've heard of my buddies tell me, "you'll void the warranty" and i told him, no i wont, and he says, "well i'd like to see that happen" so i called him an ******* and hung up on him! tired of my so called friends negativity all the time

stick your head under your truck and take a look at the front suspension, it isn't very hard to figure out how it works. there are some fat bars(tortion bars) that twist, they are what hold the truck up. in the middle of the truck are the mounts for the back of the bars, there are adjusters in that mount that alow you to adjust your ride height. you just back off on those bolts and the truck settles down.
measure your height, turn each bolt(one for each side) an equal amount out, go for a quick spin and recheck height. i bet you can get 1inch without any problems and more if you trim down the bump stops a little.
the bump stops are up front near where the springs are on a normal front end, they are a big rubber bumper that cushions the suspension as it nears it's lower limit, on other trucks i have trimed about 1/2 of this bumpstop off so that i could get it lower. this has a side effect, when you hit a big bump the bump stop is now alot firmer than before and when you bottom it will be a little harsher than before but will ride normal the rest of the time.
just stick your head under there and u will see what i am talking about. not sure what parts will need to come off since yo have a lift.

What kind of lift do you have?
I moved down the same path. I had a 3" body lift with 33" tires. I pulled it off. Now I'm back to a stock height tire with a 2" rear drop to level it out. Its not low, but its just about right for me.

im going to pay off my credit cards first hefore I do anything. its either lowering it, or putting a 6" suspension lift on it; we'll see what happens.

I say go for it! The owner of a local muffler shop has a Z71 that he's lowered, looks like a 2wd ext cab truck. He's also has a whipple on it and some ghost flames, bad looking tuck.
