According to the Wix website, PF59 and PF61 both switch to a Wix 51522

Seems alot of the guys over at LS1Tech are a fan of that one too...

I've always used either Delco or Wix filters (used alot of Wix filters when I was in high school since I worked at a NAPA part time and got em cheap )

Geez, I'm losing enough sleep trying to decide on a cam for my future 6.0 project...now I gotta rethink my oil filter selection too...ugh! At least I still have a few PF-59's left to use while I think about it.

The new Amsoil ea filter and also the Mobil1 filters look interesting too...

I like the K&N, its supposed to be one of the best. I know alot of the corvette guys use it. I have heard good things about the Mobil 1 and new Amsoil filter also. I like the K&N also cause you don't need a filter wrench, just a 1" wrench. Its dam pricey though.

Bud, all I can say is Comp XER lobes and don't look back!

I use the K&N because of the hex head on it too... plus the fact thats its a good filter... if it wasnt the K&N it'd be the mobil 1

Question

K&N's web-site shows that the 99'-02' Silverados use the HP-2006.
That the 03' & up use the HP-1007.
I posted earlier about using the K&N HP-1007, but my receipts show that I've been buying the HP-2006 for my 05' VHO.
Wonder if I should switch to the HP-1007?
What the heck is the difference in them other than the HP-1007 being shorter?
Why did GM change the size of thier oil filters for the trucks in 03'?

Are they reuseable?? I didn't even both reading the packahe after seeing the price.
I don't put a price on a great oil filter! It plays a big part in the life expectancy of your engine!
