Oil Cooler
#1
Can someone tell me which oil cooler tube is the feed and which is the return? Not the trany cooler lines, but the oil cooler lines. Is the top line the feed or the return?

no one knows? Good, i dont feel quite as stupid then...LOL. Does it even matter for what im doing? Hooking up an auxillary oil cooler, so does it matter which line hooks into which port on the cooler?
Also, whats the best way to crank the engine over without it starting? With the new cooler and cooler lines installed, I want to buiild up some oil pressure before letting this thing fire up. There is a lot of "dry" space in there right now.

I wouldnt think it would matter unless it had some kind of internal check valve in the cooler... (which I doubt) the best way I've found is to pull off the plug wires or just take out the plugs and spin it over with the starter. that way you could turn it over for a few seconds and not have it start up.

Yeah, i suppose it shouldnt matter which line goes where, and no....the oil cooler has no check valve. I will just run the top cooler line into the top of the new cooler and the bottom cooler line into the bottom of the cooler, just like it was on the radiator.
To crank without starting, I was going to relieve the pressure on the fuel line and pull the fuel pump fuse........think that would do it?
